Multiple Use and Movement Park Design

Universal design incorporates multiple use and movement throughout this area of a park. A pathway winds its way around the perimeter of the park lined by BC native plants and incorporating specific species planting to attract butterflies. Tennis courts on top of an existing water storage tank needed a bridge designed so that wheelchair access was possible from one upper pathway to the tennis court decks. A unique feature was the introduction of an electrical outlet in the picnic area so that people with scooters, who would have had to travel up to the site on Heritage Mountain, could recharge their scooter batteries while enjoying a picnic with family and friends.
