Nature Learning Landscapes was a presentation to the City of Langley, B.C., Canada, in March, 2008.

The presentation provided three examples of North American child centered facilities where nature teaching and nature learning were operating as models for creating child oriented play/learning opportunities.  The centers were located in Chicago, New York, and San Diego.  The presentation included child friendly interior features for washrooms, play spaces, and focused on universal design features adapted for children to engage them in natural learning experiences.  A fourth facility was presented from Florida which was child friendly however with a greater focus on the LEED features of the building as good story boards had been created on site to explain why rainwater was being collected from both the building face and the parking lot, and being diverted into rain gardens and a pond for groundwater recharge.
